Climate change, humans toughest ever hurdle we have ever had to jump. The concern of a climatic catastrophe or environmental break down is very real and we hear about it on a daily basis. Yet us humans don’t seem to be exploring all options too reduce green house gases being emitted into our thinly layered atmosphere. We pump 110 million tons of Co2 per day into an atmosphere that would take 5 minutes to drive to on a highway. The situation gets worse by the second, so we need action, Immediate action of the highest of magnitude in order to save the human race. Yet I don’t really see much movement (if at all) towards making the cow extinct.
Earths 1.5 billion cows are responsible for 18 per cent of the greenhouse gases that cause global warming, more than cars, planes and all other forms of transport put together. Not to mention the use of fuel to transport the meat, the land fill for grazing and sheer amount of precious water they consume (990 litres of water to produce one litre of milk). And their farts are made up of methane gas which warms the planet 20 times faster than carbon dioxide.
Even if we stopped farming cows, they would naturally go extinct and we would not have to kill innocent animals. But if things are as bad as the environmentalists, scientists and alarmists are telling us then why aren’t we taking drastic measures like culling an animal that contributes more to global warming than humans themselves?
Sure, we would miss those T bone steaks and burgers, but the fake meat industry has never been tastier, healthier and the impact it has on our environment is minuscule. It’s time to start debating the future of the beef industry and the real consideration of adding one more specie to the ever-growing extinct list. It may just save the human race.
